IMAGES OF OUR PAST - PINE STUMP CORNER - LAURENS, JOHNSON, EMANUEL AND TREUTLEN COUNTIES, GEORGIA

THIS OLD PINE TREE MARKS THE APPROXIMATE SPOT WHERE LAURENS, JOHNSON, EMANUEL AND TREUTLEN COUNTIES JOHN ON THE OLD SAVANNAH ROAD (GA. HIGHWAY 86).  THE SPOT WAS CREATED WHEN JOHNSON COUNTY WAS CREATED IN 1857 AS A FOUR WAY INTERSECTION WITH LAURENS, JOHNSON, EMANUEL AND MONTGOMERY COUNTIES.  P.S.  PAY NO ATTENTION TO COUNTY LINE SIGNS ALONG THE HIGHWAY.

AS YOU APPROACH THE SPOT FROM DUBLIN, LAURENS COUNTY IS ON THE RIGHT, JOHNSON IS ON THE LEFT.  AS YOU PASS THE TREE, EMANUEL IS ON YOUR LEFT AND TREUTLEN COUNTY IS ON THE RIGHT. 

THE SPOT IS LOCATED NEAR THE DWIGHT WEBB HOME PLACE.
