This ancient oak stands near the home of Laurens
County Pioneer, Henry Fuqua, who owned
a massive plantation which stretched
from Bellevue Avenue out to VA Hospital.
Although the actual age of the tree is unknown,
it is likely close to 200 years old and was likely
planted by Fuqua when he established his
plantation.
