Albert "Skinny" Clarke was named the first coach of the Warner Robins High School football team in 1953. Clark, who was a star football and basketball player for the Dublin High School Green Hurricane, led his team to a respectable 6-3 record in first season. Clarke attended Middle Georgia College and Carson-Newman College before joining the U.S. Navy and later the U.S. Naval Reserve as a Lieutenant. Clark served as an assistant coach with Valdosta, which won the Class A championship 1951 and Cordele which won the Class B Championship in 1952. Dublin Courier Herald, February 16, 1953.
