THE ET CETERA CHRONICLES - THE WATERY GRAVE OF A LAURENS COUNTY AND AMERICAN HERO HAS BEEN FOUND

The Washington Post is reporting that the wreckage of the U.S.S. Juneau has been found.  The Juneau was sunk on November 13, 1942.  Aboard the ship were the famous five Sullivan brothers who served and died together in the U.S. Navy.

Also aboard was Ensign Shelton Beverly (Slim) Sutton of Brewton, Georgia.  Sutton, a member of the Georgia Military Hall of Fame and the namesake of the U.S.S. Sutton, was also a star lineman for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in the early 1940s.
