This house was built in the years after the Civil War.  Located about a quarter of a mile east of Pleasant Springs Baptist Church on Georgia Highway 86, "The Old Savannah Road," the home was built by the neighbors and relatives of Augustus Johnson, Co. 49th Ga. Infantry, C.S.A. Private Johnson died of measles in Winder Hospital, Richmond, VA on September 19, 1862.
