The Fred Roberts Hotel was completed in early 1927. It was named for Frederick Roberts, a local automobile dealer, who was chairman of the Chamber of Commerce committee to build the hotel to house the increased number of visitors traveling along the U.S. Highway 80 Coast to Coast Highway.
