IMAGES OF OUR PAST - KEWANEE, GEORGIA -

In the late 1890s, Kewanee was established along  what would become
present day Ga. Highway 338, south of Interstate 16 between
Dudley and Dexter.  Billed by its boosters as "The Largest
Peach Orchard in the World, "  the project failed when unsustainable
damage to the trees from weather conditions killed a majority of
the trees.
