IMAGES OF OUR PAST - THE12TH DISTRICT FAIRGROUNDS, TROUP STREET AND THE RAILROAD, DUBLIN, GEORGIA 1920S Created in 1913 as the Fairgrounds for members of the 12th Congressional District, this site hosted three baseball games featuring the Boston Braves & New York Yankees (1918) and the St. Louis Carindals playing Georgia colleges in 1933 and 1934. The site was also home to circuses, wild west shows, including Tom Mix in 1936. A majority of the buildings burned in 1925. The site was also the home of the Dublin Green Hurricane football team and baseball team until the late 1930s.
