THE ET CETERA CHRONICLES - STANLEY HALEY

Stanley Haley, a defensive back coach for the Dublin Irish in the late 1980s, resigned his position to join the coaching staff of the Middle Georgia Heat Wave, a minor league football based in Macon.  The Heat Wave began playing in July 1990 under Coach Lou Saban.

Saban and Haley served on the coaching staff with a native of Macon, Julius Adams, who was a member of the NFL Hall of Fame.  After four games,  Saban resigned and Adams took over he role of head coach.

In the 1960s, Saban, the AFL Coach of the Year in 1964 and 1965, coached the Boston Patriots, Buffalo Bills and the Denver Broncos of the old American Football League.  Saban, among my college teams, coached Maryland, Army, Central Florida, Northwestern and many others.
