Albert "Skinny" Clarke was named the first coach of the Warner Robins High School football team in 1953. Clark, who was a star football and basketball player for the Dublin High School Green Hurricane, led his team to a respectable 6-3 record in first season. Clarke attended Middle Georgia College and Carson-Newman College before joining the U.S. Navy and later the U.S. Naval Reserve as a Lieutenant. Clark served as an assistant coach with Valdosta, which won the Class A championship 1951 and Cordele which won the Class B Championship in 1952. Dublin Courier Herald, February 16, 1953. Beginning in the 1970s and continuing until the present time, the Warner Robins High School Demons have been rated among the top high schools in the nation.
