IMAGES OF OUR PAST - AS A PART OF THE NEW DRIVE TO PEEL OFF THE FACADES OF DOWNTOWN'S OLDEST BUILDINGS, HERE IS WHAT WORKERS FOUND BEHIND THE FACADE OF THE OLD DUNN'S BUILDING ON SOUTH JEFFERSON STREET, DUBLIN, GEORGIA

Originally part of the four "Jackson Stores," which were erected circa 1910 on South Jefferson Street.  Hankins Store, operated by Murray Hankins,  opened in Dublin in 1932 and closed at another location in 1968.

Aronson's was opened in the early 1920 by Louis Aronson and his wife, both of whom were Russian emigrants.  Their son, Herman, changed his name when he entered the radio business to Hal Murray.  Murray became one of the most popular Rock and Roll disc jockeys of the 1960s
