Georgia state game officials found the largest seining net ever found in Georgia, in the spring of 1961 in McCormick’s Dead River in Laurens County. The monster net , located 15 miles south of Dublin on the Oconee River, was 30 feet wide with 150-foot wings. Just before the officers arrived on the scene, the perpetrators emptied the net of contents just in time for supper. Brunswick News, May 21, 1968.
