In February 1911, the Dublin High basketball team, consisting of Frank Grier, center, Currell Daniel and Leon Bush, forwards, Edgar Hodges and Sam Daniel, guards, and Lee Smith, substitute, traveled to play Mercer University in Macon, for its first game ever. Dublin returned home with 3 points (34 for Mercer) and lots of experience for their next game on their outdoor home court in Stubbs Park.
