PIECES OF OUR PAST - TWO LAURENS COUNTY MEN WERE UNMATCHED

In the 235-year history of Georgia, only two men have served as Governor of Georgia, a member of the Georgia legislature, a United States Senator, and a U.S. Congressman.  Both men were residents of Laurens County:  George Troup from 1816-1856 and Thomas Hardwick, from 1925-1927.
