IMAGES OF OUR PAST - CHIC INN STORE, CEDAR GROVE, GA. - These buildings were photographed ca. 2003-2005. They were overgrown and falling in. I used AI to remove the overgrowth.
Hailing all those who hail from Cedar Grove, Georgia. I am informed that this was the Chic Inn Store south of the Cedar Grove Community on U.S. Highway 441 at the southeast corner of its intersection with Chic Inn Road. I am desperately seeking information on this place and its unusual name. I believe it had its origina before 1970 and that there was a barbershop in one of the conjoined buildings. During the 1970s, it was a popular stop for those traveling the highway going south to Miami. It was reported that the women of Cedar Grove would gather in the summer and shell peas and butterbeans and process other kinds of local vegetables.
