The Brewton and Pineora Railroad opened on Sunday, June 9, 1901  giving passenger service from Brewton directly to Savannah.  The line was known as the Oconee Branch of the railroad.  A train will leave Brewton daily, except Sunday at 5:45 a.m. and arrive in Savannah at 11:30 a.m.  Returning it will leave Savannah at 3:00 p.m. and return to Brewon at 8:45 p.m.  The Sunday train will leave at 5:10 a.m. and arrive in Savannah at 10:35 a.m.   The returning train will leave Savannah at 11:58 a.m.  This will allow the people of Laurens to go to and return from Savannah in one day with more time to spend on Sunday.
